The main building block and foundation to optimal health is of coarse our daily water intake. Water plays an important role in the body. Up to 60% of the human adult body is made up of water. The brain and heart are composed of 73% water, the lungs are around 83%, the skin contains 64% and the muscles and kidneys are made up of 79% water.

When we are dehydrated it affects the body to be able to function normally, that includes physically, mentally and emotionally. Our body needs water to survive. The body often mistakes being thirsty for hunger pangs, so if you are dehydrated, it can lead to overeating. Not only this but when we get to the point where we realise we are actually thirsty, generally that means that we are quite dehydrated.
