Planning is underway to launch an official Yorke Peninsula food brand!
Working in partnership with Yorke Peninsula Tourism and Primary Industries and Regions South Australia (PIRSA), Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North (RDAYMN) aim to increase collaboration across Yorke Peninsula’s food, wine, tourism, business and industry sectors through the development of a Yorke Peninsula Regional Brand.
Yorke Peninsula is one of South Australia’s favourite holiday playgrounds. With over 700 kilometres of coastline, stunning beaches, great fishing, and a fascinating history, it attracts around 1 million visitors per year. Food and wine is important to regional tourism visitation, and is increasingly becoming more important to the visitor experience. By deepening relationships between YP’s local producers, businesses will improve and increase tourism offerings in the region.
The aim is to make it easier for both visitors and locals to identify Yorke Peninsula produce throughout the region, interstate and abroad.
PH8 was in attendance at the first YP Food Trade Show held on March 8th at Barley Stacks Wines which brought together a wide range of local producers to showcase their produce, explore new relationships and discuss the establishment of YP’s Regional Brand.
