If you’ve never been to Thailand but love experiencing new cultures and have your favourite Thai takeout on speed dial, then the upcoming Thai Festival 2024, hosted by the Thai-Australian Association of South Australia, could be just the event for you.
Happening on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, at the scenic Kings Reserve in Torrensville, SA, and running from 11 am to 9 pm, this family-friendly event showcases the best of Thailand’s rich culture and delectable cuisine all in one jam-packed day.
The theme of this year’s festival, ‘Best of the 4 Regions’, will take you on a tour through Thailand’s diverse landscapes—from the misty mountains of the North to the sun-kissed beaches of the South, each region offers its own unique flavours and traditions, and the Thai Festival 2024 is set to bring them all to South Australia!
Over 30 stalls will be showcasing a smorgasbord of Thai delicacies, offering a taste of the distinct and popular flavours found in Thailand’s famous cuisine. Whether you’re a fan of spicy, sweet, sour, or savoury, there’ll be something to satisfy every palate, including soups, salads and curries, as well as desserts and traditional Thai sweets and drinks.
But if you’re looking for more than just delicious, mouth-watering food, the festival will also feature:
- Traditional Thai dance performances, telling stories of heritage and history.
- Cooking demonstrations by skilled chefs—learn the secrets behind your favourite Thai dishes.
- Arts and crafts showcasing Thailand’s rich artistic heritage.
- Energetic Muay Thai demonstrations.
- Folk games and a kids’ fun zone for family-friendly entertainment.
- Relaxing Thai massage sessions to unwind.

Entry to the Thai Festival 2024 is only $3, and kids under 12 years of age get in for free. People are invited to bring along picnic chairs, mats, or blankets to relax on and make a day of it with the whole family and to take in all the festival has to offer (please note that the venue is a no BYO alcohol and smoke-free zone for everyone’s comfort).
