What is Alkalinity & pH?
Alkalinity refers to the capacity of water to neutralise an acid. pH is a measurement scale from 0 – 14 that expresses the acidity or alkalinity of water. pH 7 is neutral with lower values more acidic and higher values more alkaline. Most bottled waters have a pH factor of 7.0 where as alkaline water, which is also called ionised water (if it has been processed), generally has a pH between 7 and 9.5.

What is the difference between natural alkaline water and artificial alkaline water?
Alkaline Water comes in 2 different forms, natural alkaline water and artificially produced alkaline water.
Natural alkaline water is naturally alkaline from the source. This occurs because water passes through rocks in the earth and inherits minerals. PH8 Water obtains its natural alkalinity and essential (natural) mineral content while filtering through the black limestone.
Artificial alkaline water is produced when neutral or tap water is made alkaline by a process called electrolysis. Artificially produced alkaline water does not contain naturally occurring minerals, however, some companies will add in selected minerals. Other bottled water companies will try to mislead customers by marketing their products as ‘natural’ despite using water ionizers.
Why should I drink PH8 Natural Alkaline Water?

PH8 Natural Alkaline Water is 100% natural. Nothing needs to be added or removed from the water. Other bottled spring waters will need to remove unfavourable elements via complex filtration systems, reverse osmosis and/ or UV heat treatment which also removes ‘good’ elements in the water.

Millions of years ago the Yorke Peninsula was covered by the ocean that has left the land rich in limestone. An annual rainfall of 560mm filters through 38 meters of dense limestone and resides in 30 meter layer of sand similar to beach sand. It’s thought to take between 12 – 14 months for the rainwater to seep through the limestone which gives PH8 Natural Alkaline its essential trace minerals and smooth taste.

Water with a low pH and deficient in minerals is often described as dead water, lacking the ability to aid the blood to neutralise acids in the body and replenish electrolyte minerals. Unlike most alkaline water companies, PH8 Natural Alkaline WAter is not artificially manufactured by machines. Natural alkalinity helps maintain the blood’s pH level and reducing acidity in the body. Due to factors such as diet and stress, most human bodies are overly acidic which over time can lead to many health concerns.

PH8 Natural Alkaline Water with it’s alkaline pH of 8.3 and high soluble micro cluster properties is the best way to re-hydrate, while building up the bodies reserves of alkaline and electrolyte minerals. Water molecules come in clusters rather than single molecules. Tap water has very large clusters (10 to 13 molecules per cluster). Alkaline water forms ‘Micro clusters’ (5 to 6 molecules per cluster). The smaller cluster size gives the water excellent hydrating properties and high solubility. The Alkaline Micro Cluster Water acts as a powerful anti oxidant, improving immune functions and general health.

Potassium is critical in maintaining proper electrolyte levels. Potassium plays a fundamental role in cellular exchanges. Potassium deficiency may lead to poor energy, lack of strength as well as cramping. It is also an important for maintaining the pH balance.
Magnesium is known for its calming effect on our nervous system, as well as its stimulating effect on the immune system. It is vital in assisting in calcium and potassium uptake. A deficiency interferes with the transmission of nerve and muscle impulses, causing irritability and nervousness. Magnesium is also a crucial element in maintaining proper pH balance.
Sodium is the major positive ion in fluid outside of cells. Sodium regulates the total amount of water in the body and the transmission of sodium into and out of individual cells also plays a role in critical body functions. Many processes in the body, especially in the brain, nervous system, and muscles, require electrical signals for communication. The movement of sodium is critical in generation of these electrical signals.
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body, and about 99% of the body’s calcium is found in our bones. Calcium deficiency may ultimately lead to acidification as well as osteoporosis, which thins and weakens bones making them frail.
Bicarbonate is an important buffer for maintaining the pH balance in the blood.

Selenium supports immune function and neutralises certain poisonous substances such as cadmium, mercury, and arsenic that may be ingested or inhaled. Selenium also acts as an antioxidant against free radicals that damage our DNA.

Where is the source of PH8 Natural Alkaline Water?
PH8 can be found in the remote, pristine region of the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia there lies a unique expanse of land that stretches for as far as the eye can see. The aquifer Located only a few kilometres in from the Peninsula coast line of South Australia, and surrounded by long established forests and rolling plains this land of 1800 acres.
How do we get the water from the Aquifer to the bottle in the middle of nowhere?
Whilst drawing up this pristine water from the aquifer via a windmill may have been a challenge in itself, building a purpose built bottling plant in the middle of a field where the nearest town population is around 100 is a task most would shy away from. Getting the water from the Aquifer to the plant required a 2 kilometre long pipeline which had to be buried beneath the surface. This feat incurred the carving out a deep ditch of sold limestone rock.
How healthy is the manufacturing process?
PH8 would not be the brand it is without stringent controls, but it all this aforementioned activity at source that is place to prevent any contamination from filling and storage (often completed by other brands at other sites). And that’s how we can protect one of the very unique properties of PH8 ‘the smooth taste’, something which cannot be manufactured. As for health concerns there is zero ‘E coli’ when water is drawn from the aquifer, thus removing the necessity of Ultra Violet treatment that is used to kill off Coliforms associated with ‘E coli’.
How is the product delivered?
After bottling PH8 at the source it is packed into recyclable cartons (not shrink-wrap), and transported to PH8’s warehouse some 200 hundred kilometre’s away ( a 3 hour journey one way ) from the source to Adelaide where it is on forwarded to various destinations that include supermarkets, health food stores, gymnasiums, offices and other channels throughout Australasia. PH8 is also available for home delivery (in some areas) to those consumers who choose to use PH8 as their preferred lifestyle water.
Is PH8 BPA free?
Yes, all PH8 bottles are BPA free.
Does PH8 contain Fluoride
PH8 contains naturally occurring ‘calcium fluoride’ but does NOT contain ‘sodium fluoride’- the artificial substance added to tap water in some states.
Is PH8 HACCP accredited?
PH8 Pty Ltd is a Trademarked product in Australia only and has been accredited with the 5 ticks of Australian standards this being; HACCP accreditation (Food and Safety Management Plan).
